We had a website launch party at Le Rockette on St.Denis to celebrate Lady Like’s new website !

nPuces Pop Montreal’s Fashion Show

Puces Pop Montreal had an opening party in October and a fashion show to show 6 of Montreal’s emerging designers, Lady Like was one of them!!!

It was all organized by Montreal blogger and Nightlife Magazine intern Marilis Cardinal.

Puces Pop teamed up with Le Chateau for the event.

We had a good time showing some of our outfits and meeting some more fashion designers…

Audrey Ann Cantwell – Howl, Devon Leflufy- Dhalfnight, who does men’s clothing, we think there aren’t enough men’s designers around and although I have no clue where to begin in designing men’s garments I can appreciate men’s wear and loved it ! Madhuri- L’insolite, Roxanne Leger-Sid and Dane Gerus- Dangerus, who took the win for most innovative designer and was awarded $2000 by Le Chateau !

Lady Like’s Spring/Summer 09 Fashion and Burlesque Show

Lady Like clothing is inspired by vintage clothing and in a huge way burlesque. So naturally the Lady Like Fashion show had to involve not only the clothing collection for Spring/Summer 2009, entitled Queen of Hearts, but of course some burlesque performances by local talents.

The Queen of Hearts Collection was inspired by a burlesque Alice in Wonderland, is Alice and the Queen of Hearts became friends and joined a burlesque troop, pieces were named after burlesque performers Lili St.Cyr, Dita Von Tesse, Tempest Storm and the Queen of Hearts, Alice and other Wonderland characters.

For the burlesque segment we had Scarlett James, of course, and Lou Lou as well as Zilly Lilly opening the fashion show with a sweet 50’s inspired number, also Nataly D Lovely and  the Hot Club Cabaret Troop.

It was a fun night of fashion and ladies to fancy, we hope to throw more in the future for sure!

Our models were all on a volunteer basis so we need to thank them for doing a wonderful job and for being so fabulous, Elsa, Katyriana, Katia, Gen, Helena, Sahina, Meagan,  and Ronda and Scarlett !

Thanks as well to Angela Vaags and Sandra Chirico for organizing all the back stage/on stage action and Liz Furlong for doing the make up as well as Mado’s Cabaret for letting us use their venue.

Lady Like’s Photoshoot

We had a Photoshoot….

 

To start, like a crazy person, Lady Like created two collections at once, Fall/Winter 2008 AND Spring/Summer 2009… So a photo shoot covering two seasons had to happen with mixed inspirations, people whirling around and a general good time ensued.

It was a lot of fun ! Lady Like’s Vixens and Kittens, model/Burlesque performer Scarlett James,  as the Fall/Winter lady and model Ronda Laine as the Spring/Summer Lady.

We had Suicide Girls Montreal photographer Sharon Davies doing the main ad shots on sets we spent all night making and photographer Marilis Cardinal of Shut Up you Twit aka Pregnant Goldfish street style blog as the clothing shooter.

We had Sandra Chirico doing make up,  costume designer guru, Angela Vaags on safety pins, set and sanity patrol for the designer, Lady Like’s serogate mother and mentor fashion designer Nicole Picard of Fairyesque stopped by for some giggles, and Lady Like’s graphic designer Karina Lanza and Lady Like’s everything girl Lexie Von Hagen were also on hand, on pins and primping. To capture our first ever photoshoot for Lady Like we had the lovely photographer Camille McOuat come capture everything.
